Hidden Truths About Coffee

We think everyone deserves to the know the truth about coffee; that is the pros and cons.

We drink coffee because it helps us stay awake at work or at school. We drink it because it’s a habit. We drink it because it tastes good. We drink it because it feels good. We drink it because it’s “cool”; it’s what everyone is doing. There are many reasons why people drink coffee, some of those reasons are pretty obvious like staying awake. The things that are not obvious about coffee, not a lot of people know. Let’s get to it.

 

Let’s starts with the cons so that way we can end with the pros so you won’t feel so bad.

 

Cons

1. Stomach pains or ulcers
Stomach pains suck. There’s nothing worse than going to the bathroom because you’re stomach hurts like crazy. Ulcers are sores that develop on the lining of the stomach, esophagus, or small intestine. Coffee can damage your gastrointestinal tract which can cause ulcers to appear.

2. Makes you want to take a dump

I’m not going to blame coffee directly but anything that’s hot and tastes as good as coffee will make you want to poop… well at least for some people I know.

3. Bad for babies!

This one. doesn’t apply to everyone. Coffee is not the best for babies. There have been studies that have shown an increased likeliness of miscarriage when pregnant mothers drink coffee.

4. Bad bones!

No one wants to start limping at the age of 30. Well people believe coffee is bad for your bones. Caffeine is known to lower bone density in women.

5. Heartburn

You may experience heartburns when you drink coffee. Coffee or specifically caffeine, is known to relax the esophageal sphincter which can cause heartburns. You might be thinking, “What about decaf?” Decaf coffee is still known to cause heartburns in some people.

 

Now that we have the cons out of the way, let’s continue with the pros. Coffee as you know can help people wake up or stay awake. Let’s see the pros that aren’t too obvious about java.

Pros

1. Less risk of type 2 diabetes

There have been studies that have found if a person with normal blood sugar drinks coffee, it reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes.

2. Reduce liver damage

If you drink a lot of alcohol, you liver may be hurt of damaged. A few studies have shown that coffee can help reduce the risk of liver damage. Next time you want to drink heavily, you should probably think of drinking coffee instead.

3. Burns fat

This is a plus with coffee. The caffeine in coffee helps burn fat by raising your metabolism and increases the oxidation of fatty acids. Coffee also helps you improve your overall physical performance.

4. Protects heart failure

A Harvard study and research studies have shown that people who drink 4 or more cups of coffee a day reduces the risk of heart failure by 11%.

5. Reduce the risk of getting Parkinson’s.

Studies have shown that coffee drinkers are less likely to get Parkinson’s.
